Rural Electrification

Relying on extensive experience in the EPC domain, SSEL has built a strong presence in rural electrification. This initiative focuses on extending electrical power to villages and remote regions, forming a vital part of SSEL’s portfolio.

As part of this effort, SSEL has successfully executed projects under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Viyutikaran Yojana, electrifying several remote villages across Odisha, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana.

Substations & Line Erection

SSEL possesses the technical expertise and experience required to deliver EPC substation and new line erection projects. Our services span the entire project lifecycle from concept to commissioning for HV substations and transmission lines up to 400 kV, adhering to IEC and other global standards.

To date, SSEL has commissioned more than 200 substations, with another 150 projects underway in various states across India. Our track record also includes over 150,000 km of HT and LT line installations.

High Voltage Distribution System (HVDS)

SSEL is a leading name in HVDS projects, designed specifically to supply electricity to agricultural consumers via selected 11 kV feeders.

The process involves converting low-voltage distribution networks into high-voltage distribution systems by upgrading 415 V LT lines into 11 kV HT lines. In addition, large distribution transformers (100/63 kVA “mother DTRs”) are replaced with smaller 25 kVA transformers.

In this model, LT overhead lines are eliminated, and instead, LT aerial bunched (AB) cables are used from the transformer to the agricultural bore well. This ensures the complete elimination of LT line faults.

Reconductoring Projects

SSEL has also executed reconductoring and strengthening works for existing HT and LT lines, along with allied services, on a turnkey basis.

NHPC Solar Project

NHPC Limited and Shirdi Sai Electricals Ltd. (SSEL) have joined forces to develop a 100 MW solar power project at N.P. Kunta in Andhra Pradesh. The project marks a major step in SSEL’s renewable‑energy expansion and reinforces NHPC’s commitment to diversifying into solar power generation. The project officially commenced with a traditional Bhoomi Puja in December 2023.
