Established in 1957 and acquired by Shirdi Sai Electricals Limited (SSEL) from GE (T&D) in 2022, the Naini facility in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, stands as a symbol of technological excellence and manufacturing precision.

Today, SSEL Naini is one of India’s most advanced centers for Extra High Voltage (EHV) transformer and reactor manufacturing, supporting the nation’s evolving power infrastructure with innovation, reliability, and world-class quality standards.

The facility strengthens India’s power ecosystem through cutting-edge manufacturing of EHV transformers and reactors, contributing significantly to the nation’s energy self-reliance.

By reducing import dependency and enhancing grid reliability, we continue to empower India’s rapid energy growth and transmission network expansion.

World-Class Manufacturing Hub

The Naini plant is a state-of-the-art facility equipped with cutting-edge technology and modern production systems to manufacture power transformers up to 500 MVA for the 400 kV class.

With an installed capacity of 17,000 MVA per annum, the facility is designed to meet large-scale power sector demands with uncompromised quality, precision, and efficiency.

SSEL Naini also features ISO/IEC 17025-certified test laboratories, ensuring every product meets stringent international testing and performance benchmarks.

We are certified with ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, and OHSAS 18001:2007 standards, and our laboratories are NABL accredited.

A major milestone includes the successful type testing of a 200 MVA, 400 kV transformer, which passed short-circuit testing under extreme conditions for a prestigious Indian client — a testament to our technical excellence, engineering depth, and product reliability.

Technical Collaboration & R&D

To strengthen our engineering expertise, SSEL Naini has a technical collaboration with Royal SMIT for the design and manufacture of 400 kV reactors. This partnership integrates European design proficiency with Indian manufacturing excellence, enabling SSEL to deliver high-performance, energy-efficient, and reliable products
